With over 23 years experience your instructor (Richard Hays) is an Advanced rated Instructor; Master rated pilot and Region 9 Examiner. Being one of the first USHGA Certified Instructors on the East Coast. Richard has been continuously active in all aspects of the sport regionally including competition, ultralights , towing , new site development and local club responsibilities. Having held the position of instructor for 5 different schools since 1976, Richard began the Maryland School of Hanggliding in 1981 and has developed a reputation for being one of the most safety conscious and thorough instructors locally.
